Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens is the structural unit of the International Cooperation Department.
General Information
Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens was founded at the University in 2021. The main goal of its work is implementation of additional general education programs that provide training for foreign citizens to master professional educational programs in Russian. The programs of the Preparatory Russian language course are intended for foreign citizens who do not fully speak Russian and wish to get higher education in Russian universities.
Educational Process
Admission of foreign citizens to study the next academic year is proceeding from February to August period. There are available study process formats: full-time option (in Moscow) or remote option (foreign citizens are outside the Russia and study online). Study groups usually consist of 12-20 students.
The core of educational and tutorial work in the preparatory department is carried out by «Russian as a Foreign Language Department» teachers. The teachers are highly qualified staff with many years of experience. In their work the teachers use the up-dated language teaching methods and best practices, they carefully select educational material and methods of its presentation depending on duration of study training and number of class hours. At the end of academic year students take exams in the Russian language and disciplines of their chosen study direction. After successful passing the exams students are provided with a certificate of the program completion. This gives them the opportunity to continue their studies in Russian universities.
The duration of study is one academic year (8-10 calendar months).
Educational programs in the 2025/2026 academic year have the following fields of study:
- Economic
Foreign citizens receive an established form Certificate in case they have successfully completed training in additional general educational programs and successfully passed the final exams. Foreign citizens receive an established form letter in case they have not passed the final exams or have mastered a part of the educational program only.
Tuition fees
The tuition fees for the 2025/2026 academic year to study at the additional general education program is 208,500 rubles (the cost does not include accommodation fees, visa fees and medical insurance fees).
