General Information
The Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens as a structural unit of the University was established in 2021. The main goal of its work is the implementation of additional general education programs that provide training for foreign citizens to master professional educational programs in Russian. The programs of the preparatory department are intended for foreign citizens who do not fully speak Russian and who wish to receive higher education in Russian universities.
Educational Process
Admission of foreign citizens for the next academic year is conducted from February to August. Types of study courses: full-time (in Moscow) or completely remote studies (foreign citizens who are not in Russia). Groups usually consist of 12–20 students.
Teachers of the department “Russian as a foreign language (RAFL)” carry out the main volume of educational work at the preparatory courses. RAFL teachers are highly qualified. They have many years of experience. Teachers use the latest language teaching methods, carefully select educational material and methods of its presentation, depending on the duration of training. At the end of the academic year, students take exams in the Russian language and disciplines of their chosen direction. After successfully passing the exams, students receive a certificate of program completion. This gives them the opportunity to continue their studies at the universities of the Russian Federation.
The term of study is one academic year (8–10 calendar months).
Educational programs in the 2023/2024 academic year have the following fields:
1. Economic.
2. Natural Science.
Foreign citizens who have successfully completed studies in preparatory programs and successfully passed the final certification receive a Certificate of the established form. Foreign citizens who have not passed the final certification or have mastered part of the program receive a Letter of the established form.
Cost of Education
The cost of education in the 2023/2024 academic year for a preparatory program that provides studies for foreign citizens to master professional educational programs in Russian is 190,000 rubles (the price does not include accommodation, visa, and medical insurance).
