An international student can stay legally in Russia only if he/she has valid documents.
Please be informed that according to Russian legislation police officers (or other competent official authorities) have the right to check a foreigner’s documents.
Staying of a foreign in Russia with invalid or incorrect documents is a violation of migration legislation. Violation of the law may result in administrative or criminal liability for a person.
Make sure you keep all the documents with you:
- passport (with a valid visa, if applicable);
- migration card (except for Republic of Belarus citizens);
- migration registration slip (valid registration);
- fingerprinting card;
- voluntary health insurance policy.
* It is strongly recommended that you also make and save digital copies of all the documents.
